Green River Bastion trailhead (Aug. 2013).
A quick day trip to Squamish during my brother’s brief PDX visit. Nothing like rain watching in BC to round out the PacNW experience. We even drove up to Pemberton in search of drier crags but found pretty shitty climbing on the Green River Bastion (we tried the 10a line but I was shot down by lack of large gear and a dirty, flaring chimney on P1…made use of the pre-existing bail slings). Came back to Squamish and were teased by bits of clear sky and dry conditions. Squeezed in two ho-hum pitches at the Smoke Bluffs in-between bouts of drizzle. Such is life.

Leading the opening ramp of Fine Time (5.10a) on Green River Bastion…see the bail slings? Yeah, after ‘sploring some above, climbed down and bailed off too (Aug. 2013).
Leading pitch 1 of Fine Time (5.10a) on the Green River Bastion…bailed above this bulge as the rock was dirty and the crack was too wide for the rack I had (Aug. 2013).
